Product Overview

MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC Anti-Friction Coating (AFC) is a premium-performance, heat-cured dry film lubricant with a high load-carrying capacity due to its unique resin selection. MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC AFC is formulated with a high-evaporation-rate organic solvent and solid graphite and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) particles that provide high resistance to wear, extreme temperatures, and solvents.

MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC AFC can withstand a broad operating temperature range and can be used for a variety of applications. For longer-lasting adhesion and service, pretreatment of the desired surface is recommended by either phosphating or sandblasting. MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC AFC can be applied via spraying, brushing, centrifuging, or dipping.

Applications

MOLYKOTE® D-7409-NEP EC Anti-Friction Coating is well suited for a variety of end applications that experience moderately high loads and fast speeds and for metal-metal surfaces, including the following:

Piston rings and tappets in engines
Magnetic armatures
Parts of vehicle brake systems
Locks and  hinges
Pump systems
Hydraulic components and pneumatic systems
