Product Overview

MOLYKOTE® 7400 Anti-Friction Coating is a high-performance, solvent-free dry- film lubricant for long-term protection in heavily loaded equipment.   MOLYKOTE® 7400 AFC is an ideal solution for applications where grease or oil is undesired. MOLYKOTE® 7400 AFC leaves a thin, gray film that provides exceptional stability for metal-on-metal surfaces with slow to moderate-speed movements and high loads. MOLYKOTE® 7400 Anti-Friction Coating is a versatile, air-curing dry lubricant with exceptional high load-carrying capacity.

Applications

Prior to applying MOLYKOTE® 7400 Anti-Friction Coating, the metal surface should be degreased and cleaned with a solvent to ensure proper surface adhesion. Once the surface has been prepared, stir the MOLYKOTE® 7400 to ensure solid lubricant distribution and apply to the part surface via spraying, dipping, centrifuging, or brushing to a recommended dry film thickness of 5 to 20 μm.

MOLYKOTE® 7400 Anti-Friction Coating can be used in a variety of applications that require a water-based, air-cured lubricant, including the following:

Slides, guides, and tracks
Sleeves and fasteners
In-car transmission driveshafts
Maintenance-free automotive threaded sleeves and mechanisms
