Development of High Service Temperature Fluids
Silicone lubricants are not limited to standard poly-dimethylsiloxanes. The capability to tailor the polymer chain with various co-monomers (phenyl-siloxane, fluoro-siloxane and their combinations) has significantly broadened the technical performance of silicone lubricants. In this technical article the tribological strengths and weaknesses of the various silicone lubricants are discussed. The use on new molecular modeling techniques to optimize the temperature and wear resistance is presented.
